The "Folk Music Orchestra" was founded in 2013 and belongs to the entire staff of the Municipal Conservatory of Larissa.

  It consists of renowned musicians with remarkable studies and artistic activity in Greece and abroad with a wide range of repertoire (classical music, jazz, Brazilian, folk and traditional music).

  The "Folk Music Orchestra" has collaborated with the "Thessalian Theater" and Kostas Tsianos on concerts such as "Thessalian Bards", "Costas Virvos", "Ports of the World" (folk music from Piraeus, Naples, Buenos Aires and Sao Pao Pao) the sea ”and has presented musical tributes to Apostolos Kaldaras, Christos Nikolopoulos and Manos Eleftheriou.

  In April 2017, the orchestra performed in Brussels (Maison du Peuple) at a grand concert entitled "Une chanson de Grèce". In June 2018 he represented our city in Anapa, Russia.

  The orchestra deals with the whole spectrum of 20th century Greek folk music. (Vamvakaris, Tsitsanis, Theodorakis, Xarhakos, etc.) and its purpose is to disseminate Greek folk culture both inside the country and abroad.

  The members of the orchestra are:
